# Pressure Goggles

Engineer's Goggles that also show where the water presses on the hull of every ship nearby. Every hull block gets painted with a heat map, from cool to red.

## Recipe

![Pressure Goggles recipe](https://1371052705-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FV22FKtcNjWW37kUFLLdR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-b706fdca61bee156a7dbadba30598907f9b3ba31%2Fpressure_goggles.png?alt=media)

## How to use it

Wear them like normal goggles. They do everything the Engineer's Goggles do, plus the heat map.

Sneak + right-click with an empty hand while wearing them (or with them in hand) to switch mode:

* **Absolute:** red means the block is at the limit of what it can hold and will crack. At the surface, it shows the ship as it would be at the depth where it starts cracking, so you can test a design before diving.
* **Distribution:** red marks the most exposed blocks of the ship, whatever the depth. Useful to see how the load moves when the ship tilts.
* **Off:** hides the colours and keeps the goggles.

## Good to know

* With these or normal Engineer's Goggles on, hovering a block in your inventory shows its depth: **Max Depth** with the Classic model, **Base Depth** with Hybrid and Realistic, since there the shape of the hull changes the real limit. The colour tells you how deep the block can go: red if it holds less than 100 m (fragile), gold from 100 to 250 m (standard), green past 250 m (reinforced).
* Use them before your first deep dive to find the weak spots of the hull: big flat walls usually light up first. See [Water pressure](/create-deep-seas-wiki/deep-seas/mechanics/water-pressure.md).

**Details to look for**

* The lenses are red, so you can tell them apart from normal goggles on other players.
* Areas held by a girder beam show up cooler on the heat map.
