# Pressure Barometer

<img src="https://1371052705-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FV22FKtcNjWW37kUFLLdR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-9d483949959122ea61d16ed85fe2c41409924d98%2Fbarometer.png?alt=media" alt="Pressure Barometer" width="128">

The Barometer shows how much pressure the hull is taking, compared to what it can hold. A pufferfish swims inside it and lets you know at a glance.

## Recipe

## How to use it

Place it anywhere on the submarine and look at it with Create's Engineer's Goggles. It compares the depth of the submarine to the limit of its weakest hull block and gives one of four states:

| State                       | When                   |
| --------------------------- | ---------------------- |
| No Pressure                 | not underwater         |
| Acceptable Pressure | under 80% of the limit |
| Warning: Close to rupture | from 80% of the limit |
| CRITICAL: Pressure exceeded | past the limit |

It also shows the depth and the limit, in blocks.

## Display Link

Attach a Display Link to it to write the depth and the state of the hull on a Display Board. Three modes: Depth Only, Danger Only, or Depth & Danger.

## Good to know

* Use a Name Tag on the fish to give it a name. A companion for the deep.
* When the submarine is condemned, the barometer goes haywire like the other instruments. See [Cracks, breaches and implosion](/create-deep-seas-wiki/deep-seas/mechanics/cracks-and-implosion.md).
* It holds down to 350 m.

**Details to look for**

* The pufferfish swims in seagrass inside the glass and shows the pressure with its body: flat at the surface, half puffed when everything is fine, fully puffed in the warning zone, and bigger and flashing red once the limit is passed.
* When the submarine is condemned, the fish spins on itself like the needle of a broken instrument.
