# Diving Chestplate

Copper plating that keeps the sea from crushing your chest. It is part of the [Copper Diving Suit](/create-deep-seas-wiki/deep-seas/diving-gear.md), and it lets you carry your air in your bag.

## How to use it

Wear it with Create's Copper Diving Helmet, the [Diving Leggings](/create-deep-seas-wiki/deep-seas/diving-gear/diving-leggings.md) and Create's Copper Diving Boots. With the full suit you can dive down to 280 m. See [Pressure on divers](/create-deep-seas-wiki/deep-seas/mechanics/diver-pressure.md) for what happens past that.

### Backtanks in the inventory

The chestplate takes the chest slot, so you cannot wear a Copper Backtank with it. Instead, while you wear the chestplate, every Copper Backtank in your inventory (hotbar and offhand included) counts as worn:

* the helmet breathes from the emptiest one first,
* as soon as it runs dry, the next one takes over,
* the air gauge above your hotbar shows the air of all of them added together.

Carry two or three tanks and you can stay down much longer than with one on your back.

## Good to know

* 6 armor points, 240 durability. Repair it with Copper Ingots on an anvil.
* Only the Copper Backtank works from the inventory, not the netherite one.
* Create's tools that run on backtank air, like the Extendo Grip, also draw from those tanks while you wear the chestplate.
